With the 2016 season at an end, and the annual complaints of the Indycar season being too short begin, I had the idea to create the dream “realistic” extended Indycar season. The dates are set in 2018 and I made sure the tracks added were free of any major events. All tracks on the schedule have stayed, but more have been added for a total of 29 tracks and 32 races.

Tell me what you think! what would you add or take out? Do you think that it actually could be semi-realistic if Indycar puts the effort in? Is this what the series needs? Is it what you want?

Love it! I goto the StPete race every year (I am moving back downtown so I can walk there) and I always look forward to it.

I went to the Houston Grand Prix as well till it was canceled. Man that was a hot hot area....thankfully they handed out water for free.

I went to the Detroit GP at Belle Isle this past year. It was probably the most fun I’ve ever had at a race weekend. So much going on to keep you occupied the whole time you were on the island. It was great! It was a much better experience than a the multiple NASCAR races I’ve ever been to.

They should definitely go to COTA. Plus they should loosen up the rules so they turn quicker laps than F1. Then F1 would be forced to respond with looser rules of their own. A cross series rivalry would be fun until everyone went bankrupt.

Wow, that’s a lot of races. I hate how short the season is as well, but that’s too many.

As a Chicagoan, I say lose Chicagoland Speedway. It’s a boring cookie-cutter track, I’ll so see them at Indy and up at Road America. I don’t think Martinsville would make for a good race either.

Exactly!

LMP1 qualifying times were in the 1:46 range

F1 in a dry 2014 were in the 1:42 range as far as fastest laps of the race

I know Indycar should be faster than the LMP1 cars so.....

Martinsville Speedway? Are they all going to fit on the track?
